Blue Matcha

Antioxidant Collagen Quencher
The beautiful blue colour of the butterfly pea flower (blue matcha) is due to its rich content of anthocyanins, polyphenol compounds found in blueberries, purple cabbage, and other red/purple fruits and veggies. Thank the turmeric and omega-3s from flax in this smoothie for helping to fight inflammation, while the collagen helps support healthy joints, skin, hair, and nails.
SERVINGS
One large or two small

Blue Matcha Recipe
INGREDIENTS
1 banana
1 scoop your favourite vanilla protein powder
1 cup red berries (strawberries, raspberries, pomegranate, and red currants)
½-1 tsp blue matcha powder
1 tsp flaxseeds
½ tsp pure organic vanilla extract
1 tsp freshly grated turmeric root
1 tbsp organic unflavoured collagen powder (or 1 serving)
DIRECTIONS
1) Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
2) Garnish with freshly cut fruit and seeds and serve immediately.
SMOOTHIE TIPS
For extra sweetness try adding two pitted Medjool dates or a teaspoon of organic honey. Add a tablespoon of your favorite nut butter or pumpkin for extra protein, healthy fats, and flavor. Ice cubes! or frozen fruit are a great add-on during the hottest summer days.
